- What is EDGAR?
-
EDGAR is an acronym that stands for Electronic Document Gathering And Retrieval. For more information on EDGAR, please follow this link. top
- Why use EDGARfilings?
-
EDGARfilings has been filing with EDGAR since the EDGAR system began. As a premiere filing agent and EDGAR software developer, we can offer over ten years experience in EDGAR for your filing needs. Because we create the software that drives the industry, we are not reliant on third-party tools or solutions.
- How do I open an account with EDGARfilings?
-
To open an account with EDGARfilings:
- Download the Create My Account form.
- Print and fill out the form completely.
- Once the form has been completed, fax a copy of the form to us at 713.626.8857. We will process the form and create your account.
- When is the EDGAR system available for filing?
-
The EDGAR system is available Monday through Friday from the hours of 6am to 10pm, Eastern time. For a complete schedule of EDGAR hours and holidays, please follow this link.
To receive a given day's date, a filing must be transmitted to EDGAR by 5:30pm U.S. Eastern Time. Filings can still be transmitted after this time but they will not be disseminated by EDGAR until the next business day and will bear that day's date.
Section 16 filings are an exception to this rule. They may be transmitted and still receive a given day's date until 10pm U.S. Eastern Time.
Be aware of the EDGAR deadlines when sending your filings for EDGARization. Our standard turnaround time is 24 hours. We are happy to work with faster turnaround times, however rush charges will be applied. top
- How do I register a company or individual as an EDGAR filer?
-
Registering a company or individual as an EDGAR filer requires an application by the company or individual for filing codes. These filing codes grant access to the EDGAR system.
A company or individual must have filing codes before they can interact with EDGAR as a filer or subject company.
Follow the steps below to register as an EDGAR filer.
IMPORTANT: Before applying for filing codes, be sure that filing codes for the company or individual do not already exist.
-
Download and fill out the Form ID application.
Note: Per the SEC's Release No. 33-8410, the Form ID must be both signed and notarized.
-
Fax the completed Form ID to us at 713.626.8857.
We will ensure that the Form ID is promptly and properly filed with the SEC. There is a charge for this service. Please visit our pricing page for more information.
-
Once the SEC has accepted and processed the Form ID, the issued filing codes will be forwarded to you.
-
- What are filing codes?
-
The SEC identifies EDGAR filers through a set of filing codes. These codes not only identify the filer but also grant the filer access to the EDGAR system.
There are five components to the filing codes. They are the CIK, CCC, Password, PMAC, and Passphrase. For more information, please follow this link. top
- I've lost my filing codes. What do I do?
-
Before attempting to reset filing codes, be sure that the codes are really lost. Resetting filing codes will render the old codes invalid.
For complete instructions on resetting filing codes, please follow this link. top
